Leq’a:mel First Nation purchased 131 acres of land in July 2015 for agri-tourism opportunities. In 2016, we grew a large variety of non GMO vegetables and sold at area farmers markets and initiated a “good food box” program for families to purchase one week of seasonal fresh vegetables. We developed a number of value-added products including three seasonings/rub mixes and a soap and candle line. We are exploring other business development options including deer farming, highland cattle, and other value-added meat and vegetable products. Check out our journey on Facebook @leqamelgarden. We are always looking for more friends!
What we can offer you in 2017 and beyond:
• Contract growing of vegetables delivered weekly to your family, business or community;
• Opportunities to purchase all our products wholesale for your store;
• Opportunities to purchase non timber forest resource and garden products for individual use.
